- UK landlords and letting agents — to provide and evidence the guarantee for your tenancy.
- Our verification/screening partners (including in China) — to carry out the checks described above.
- Service providers that run our systems, under contract and only on our instructions, including: our database and storage provider (hosted in London, UK), our email provider (EU/Ireland), our e-signature provider, and our payment provider.
- Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants) where needed.
- Authorities, regulators or courts where we are legally required to, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Transferring your personal data internationally
EHOME’s service involves moving personal data between the UK and China (for example, verification of students and parents, and the parent counter-guarantee), and some of our service providers may process data outside the UK.
The UK has not issued “adequacy regulations” for China. Where we transfer personal data to China or another country without UK adequacy, we put in place an appropriate safeguard — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — or rely on a permitted exception (such as the transfer being necessary for our contract with you, or your explicit consent). You can ask us for details of the safeguards we use.
7. Where your data is held
Our core systems are hosted in the UK (London) and the EU (Ireland). Some data is processed in China by our verification partners as described above.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes in this notice and to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements (for example, anti-money-laundering records). Different data has different retention periods.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your data; have it corrected; have it erased (in some cases); restrict or object to our use of it; data portability (in some cases); and to withdraw consent at any time (where we rely on consent). You can also object to direct marketing at any time.
To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@ehomeproperties.com. We may need to verify your identity.
